VIENNA, Va.–As baseball season gets underway, Navy Federal Credit Union said it is expanding its relationship with the Washington Nationals.
The world’s largest credit union is the new presenting sponsor of the 7th Inning Stretch and Runs for the Brave.
“For every run scored by the Nationals during the 7th inning at Nationals Park, the credit union will donate $500, up to $50,000, to Our Military Kids,” Joe Bock, vice president of brand marketing at Navy FCU, said in a statement. “This is an exciting opportunity to put a spotlight on service and spread military appreciation with an audience that can rally behind us in honoring servicemembers and their families.”

About the Charity
Our Military Kids is a nonprofit providing extracurricular activity grants to children of deployed National Guard, deployed Reserve or post-9/11 combat wounded, ill or injured veterans.
“Our Military Kids has a measurable, lasting impact on military families, said Bock. “Children in National Guard, Reserve or combat-injured households face unique challenges that come with the unpredictable nature of military life — things like deployments, frequent relocations and recovery periods. Our Military Kids helps bridge the gap by funding extracurricular activities that give kids structure, confidence and a sense of normalcy. Their research shows families feel more connected, morale improves and children find community through these experiences.”
7th Inning Stretch
In addition, Navy FCU is also participating with the Nats on another promotion.
“At every home game this season, we’re recognizing a military servicemember during the 7th inning stretch,” said Bock. :Additionally, once per home game series, there’s a pre-game ceremony where we’ll honor someone from the military community in a bigger way. Beyond the ballpark, we’ve been serving the military community for over 90 years, and this is another way we’re showing up to say thank you and support the military community.”
