NCUA to Host Public Hearing Nov. 6 on Its 2026-27 Draft Budget

ALEXANDRIA, Va. –NCUA said it will host a public hearing on its staff draft budget for 2026-2027 on Nov. 6, at 1:00 p.m. at its headquarters in Alexandria, Va. 

The agency noted it published the 2026–2027 staff draft budget in the Federal Register on Sept. 29, and said the deadline for written comments on the staff draft budget has been extended until Nov. 7.

The proposed budget can be found on the Budget and Supplementary Materials page on NCUA’s website. As the CU Daily has reported, NCUA is proposing a budget for next year that is significantly lower than its current budget due to White House-ordered staff reductions.

The public budget hearing will be live streamed on NCUA’s webpage on Nov. 6.

What to Do to Appear in Person

NCUA said that to appear in person at the public hearing:

  • Interested parties must email their request to [email protected] by Oct. 30
  • The email must include the requestor’s name, title, affiliation, mailing address, email address, and telephone number.
  • The email must clarify if the individual wishes to attend or if the individual wishes to attend and present. 

NCUA said its board secretary will inform presenters on Oct. 31, 2025, if they have been approved to make a presentation.

In addition, in order to appear at the public hearing, approved presenters must submit their statement in advance, NCUA said, with statements required to be submitted to [email protected] by 1:00 p.m. E.T. Nov. 3.

Presenters will be allotted five minutes during the budget hearing to deliver their remarks.  

Written Comments

To provide written comments about the proposed budget. Comments should be submitted on Docket # NCUA-2025-0543 at the Federal eRulemaking Portal by Nov. 7.
