FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men’s and women’s basketball programs will team up with Northwest Federal Credit Union for an exclusive inaugural Signing Day event on June 15.
The event is open to the public and will run from 5-7 p.m. at the credit union’s headquarters in Herndon, Va. The program will include remarks from men’s basketball head coach Tony Skinn (’06), women’s basketball head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis and assistant vice president/director of athletics Marvin Lewis.
According to the university, each coach will introduce their team’s 2026-27 student-athletes. The event will open with remarks from Northwest CEO Jeff Bentley. As part of a new NIL-focused partnership, student-athletes from each program will maintain Northwest checking accounts and serve as ambassadors for the credit union.
Launch of New Initiative
The event will also serve as the soft launch of the new Team NOVA initiative with Northwest as part of the “Starting 5” sponsors, the university said.
In addition, head coaches and student-athletes will be available for interviews and a meet-and-greet with attendees.
