October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month; ACU Urges CUs to Take Advantage of Toolkit

WASHINGTON–With October being Cybersecurity Awareness Month, America’s Credit Unions is urging credit unions to take advantage of the league system’s Cybersecurity Awareness Toolkit, saying the resources can be used to educate members on fraud prevention, identity theft, account security, and safe online shopping ahead of the holiday season.

In a blog post, the trade group said it has provided details about the toolkit, including that the complimentary, fully customizable resource includes weekly campaign materials throughout the month, “making it easy for credit unions to engage members on safe online habits, emerging fraud trends, and digital security best practices.

“Designed for credit unions of all sizes, the toolkit includes editable content that can be integrated into member communications, staff training, community outreach, and fraud prevention efforts,” America’s Credit Unions said. “All of the materials carry a single campaign identity, Think Before You Click, with the tagline “Small actions. Big protection.” running across the posters, one-sheets, and social graphics.”

America’s Credit Unions added that “as trusted financial partners, credit unions are uniquely positioned to help members recognize and respond to online threats before fraud occurs. The toolkit provides practical resources and ready-to-use messaging to support those conversations and strengthen member awareness.”
