R.I.A. FCU Marking 90th Anniversary With 90 Acts of Kindness

DAVENPORT, Iowa–R.I.A. FCU said it is marking its 90th birthday with 90 acts of kindness.

“These acts will be a series of altruistic acts including partnering with charities, donating time and energy to community groups, and taking part in positive activities to help people,” the credit union said in a statement.

The $618.3-million R.I.A. FCU was founded 90 years ago to serve the police and firefighters of the Rock Island Arsenal. One year later it expanded to serve all Arsenal employees, and it has since expanded its field of membership to serve people throughout the Quad-Cities and the Midwest.

‘Common Thread’

“The common thread throughout the span of time has been the credit union’s steadfast core values,” R.I.A. FCU said in a statement. “RIA partners with dozens of schools, nursing homes, and other local organizations on a regular basis, including HAVLife, to help realize the potential of at-risk youth; the YWCA, contributing to its after-school programs and free lunches for children; and a number of veterans organizations, including the Honor Flight.”

During 2024 it noted it raised more than $40,000 for local veterans groups, and its employees donate their time to numerous causes.

R.I.A. FCU, which has more than 40,000 members, said additional details will be forthcoming regarding the acts of kindness.
