ROCKLAND, Mass. — Rockland Federal Credit Union (RFCU), which will officially be renamed to Arise Financial on August 1, said it has been selected as Boston College’s first exclusive credit union partner and is now the Official Credit Union of Boston College and Boston College Athletics.
The $3.7-billion Rockland FCU said the “landmark partnership” marks a significant milestone for both organizations and represents the first time Boston College has entered into an exclusive partnership with a financial institution, “reflecting a shared commitment to helping individuals build strong financial futures through education, access, and opportunity.”

‘Extraordinary Honor’
“Being selected as Boston College’s first exclusive credit union partner is an extraordinary honor and a defining moment for our organization,” RFCU Chief Lending Officer David Cedrone said in a statement. “We’re proud to partner with an institution that shares our commitment to education, service, and community, and we look forward to supporting the Boston College community for generations to come.”
The partnership will create new opportunities to support students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the broader Boston College community through financial education, personalized banking solutions, campus engagement, and community-focused programming. The partnership will also include for the first time on the field playing surface at Alumni Stadium, the logos of the credit union.
Branch Location Planned
Plans also include a future on-campus branch location, which will establish Arise Financial’s first branch presence in Greater Boston, expanding access to member focused financial services throughout Eastern Massachusetts. The location will complement Arise Financial’s existing branch network and shared branching capabilities, providing members with access to more than 5,000 credit union locations and ATMs nationwide, the credit union said.
“Credit unions were founded on the belief that financial services should empower people, not simply serve transactions,” RFCU President and CEO Kristin VanBeek said in a statement. “This partnership reflects exactly what we hope to accomplish as Arise Financial: creating opportunity, expanding access, and helping people achieve their goals at every stage of life. We’re honored to partner with Boston College and excited about the impact we’ll make together.”
