FOLSOM, Calif.– As part of its partnership with the Athletics, SAFE Credit Union employees and members gathered at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento for SAFE Friends & Family Night, which included unique giveaways, special access to the A’s mascot Stomper, a sweepstakes, and more.
The event was part of SAFE’s title sponsorship agreement for Sacramento Saturdays that provides SAFE members with a 15% discount on A’s Sacramento Saturday home games during the regular MLB season.
“SAFE Credit Union has a long history of fostering relationships and developing partnerships that benefit our members and the community,” says SAFE Credit Union President and CEO Faye Nabhani. “This partnership with the A’s continues that tradition by providing value to our members and through supporting the regional economy by doing what we can to present the Greater Sacramento area as a viable region for America’s pastime.”

SAFE lined up a variety of special access and pre-game activities for Friends & Family Night. Shortly after gates opened, members were invited to visit a reserved area where they could enjoy happy-hour prices on select beverages, take photos with A’s mascot Stomper, and get a unique co-branded A’s x SAFE baseball cap. SAFE notified members through push notifications of special opportunities available to them in the ballpark.
SAFE also was directly involved in many of the pre-game activities. Winners of a member sweepstakes watched batting practice from the field. Children of SAFE employees participated as Anthem Buddies, standing alongside players as the National Anthem played, and one called out “Play Ball” before the game. SAFE Credit Union Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer Tiffani Vargas had the honor of throwing the first pitch.
To further build connection and a sense of community, SAFE reserved two sections at the ballpark so members and employees could cheer alongside one another.
“This partnership is about creating meaningful experiences for our members while supporting our community,” says SAFE Credit Union Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer Tiffani Vargas. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our focus on member value and community engagement, and we’re happy to help bring people together.”

SAFE’s podcast, Perfect Cents Podcast, taped a special episode at the game, interviewing SAFE leaders, employees, the Anthem Buddies, and members about the experience on camera. The episode will be posted in the coming days on SAFE Credit Union’s YouTube channel.
“Whether it’s through discounted tickets, special events, or through unforgettable moments at the ballpark, we’re doing everything we can to return more value to our members,” Nabhani says. “Cooperative banking is about reinvesting in our members, enriching their lives, and maintaining that sense of community pride; SAFE is all about finding meaningful ways to support our members beyond traditional financial services.”
