SAN DIEGO — San Diego County Credit Union is returning as title sponsor of the Poinsettia Bowl as the college football game returns to San Diego this December after a decade-long absence.
The 13th SDCCU Poinsettia Bowl is scheduled for Dec. 23 at 4:30 p.m. at Snapdragon Stadium and will be televised by The CW Network, according to San Diego County Credit Union.
The game will feature a Pac-12 team against a Power Four opponent from the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big Ten or Big 12.
The Poinsettia Bowl was first played in 2005 and became an annual December event in San Diego. The previous 12 editions were played from 2005 through 2016 before the bowl was discontinued.

“We are proud to return as the title sponsor of the SDCCU Poinsettia Bowl and continue a partnership that brings our community together and creates a tremendous economic impact throughout the region,” SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell said in a statement.
Campbell added the credit union views the sponsorship as an investment in the region and an opportunity to support the local economy.
“As a credit union we believe in investing in the people and organizations that help our region thrive, and this partnership allows us to support our local economy while creating a positive impact that extends well beyond the game,” she said.
Bowl Returns at Snapdragon Stadium
Sports San Diego CEO Mark Neville said SDCCU’s return as title sponsor is an important part of reviving the bowl.
“We’re thrilled to bring back the SDCCU Poinsettia Bowl,” Neville said in a statement. “SDCCU has been an incredible partner to Sports San Diego for many years and having them lead this comeback means everything to us.”
Neville said the game “holds a special place in our community.”
Snapdragon Stadium, which opened in 2022, is home to San Diego State University football.
SDCCU Members to Get Ticket Presale
Tickets will initially be offered to annual Holiday Bowl ticket holders, according to SDCCU.
Credit union members will then receive access to an exclusive presale before tickets become available to the general public in September.
