Sandia Area FCU Breaks Ground on 2 New Branch Locations

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Sandia Area Federal Credit Union continued its commitment to community this week by breaking ground on two new branch locations which, when open in late 2027, will expand Sandia Area’s network to nine branches.  The new construction will provide greater access to in-person financial services in the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area.

The two branches, equipped with drive-thru service, reflect Sandia Area’s continued investment in the neighborhoods they serve.

  • Enchanted Hills (Rio Rancho) is a 4,120-square-foot branch located at 4551 Safelite Blvd. NE in north Rio Rancho (near the southeast corner of US 550 and Safelite Blvd.)
  • Westgate (South Valley, Albuquerque) is a 3,487-square-foot branch located at 1105 Snow Vista Blvd. SW (near the intersection of Snow Vista and DeVargas).

The branches will reflect Sandia Area’s focus on meeting with customers face-to-face; something Sandia Area CEO and President Kevin Todd says is at the heart of the credit union’s vision.

“We believe there is still value, in an increasingly impersonal world, in a welcoming space, staffed with friendly people and smartly designed to help foster collaboration,” said Todd. “These new branches are modern, welcoming, and built around our members and the experiences they want to have each time they walk in our doors.”
