Serve CU Expands FOM into Numerous New Counties

DES MOINES, Iowa–Serve Credit Union said it has expanded its field of membership to include employees, volunteers, and retired personnel of health and medical care facilities who live, work, or worship within Polk County or the contiguous counties of Dallas, Boone, Story, Jasper, Marion, Warren, and Madison in Iowa.

The $98.5-million Serve CU said the expansion builds upon its mission to serve those who serve our community.

“From our proud beginnings in 1931 serving police officers and their families, we are honored to expand our membership opportunities to even more Iowans on the frontlines—now including those in the healthcare industry throughout Polk County and its contiguous counties,” CEO Jami Weems said in a statement. “Healthcare professionals embody the same compassion, dedication, and service that have shaped our credit union from the beginning. We look forward to supporting them with the financial tools they need and the personalized care they deserve.”

‘Strengthened Role’

Throughout its 95 years, Serve CU said it has strengthened its role in the community and now supports a broader membership while maintaining a strong focus on service, trust, and local support. Additional membership groups include public safety professionals, government employees, educators, and others whose work strengthens Iowa communities.“Serve Credit Union remains unique in the market with a closed field of membership,” added Weems in a statement. “This enables us to focus closely on the needs of these frontline workers in our community, while also diversifying our base with the expansion into mission-aligned industries.”
