DURHAM, N.H. — Service Credit Union has expanded its nearly two-decade partnership with University of New Hampshire athletics, becoming the first corporate sponsor to have its logo displayed on the school’s men’s hockey helmets and the first such sponsor on a Hockey East team’s helmets.
The university’s athletics department and Wildcat Sports Properties, its Learfield multimedia rights partner, announced the extension Friday. The credit union’s logo was scheduled to debut during the Wildcats’ home-opening weekend against No. 2 Michigan State on Oct. 23-24 at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex. Both games were scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Oct. 24 game also was set to feature the Wildcats’ first Fan Fest, presented by Fidium Fiber, beginning at 4 p.m. outside the arena.

“As we continue to look for new and innovative ways to generate revenue and invest in our programs, it’s important that we do so with partners who share our values and our vision for UNH Athletics,” said Ryan Colton, UNH’s director of athletics. “Service Credit Union has been that kind of partner for nearly two decades.”
Colton said the agreement will help support the hockey program while providing value to fans and enhancing the student-athlete experience.
Longstanding Partnership
Portsmouth, New Hampshire-based Service Credit Union has partnered with UNH athletics since the 2008-09 season. It is the official debit card provider of the UNH Wildcats, operates ATMs at the Whittemore Center and Field House, and sponsors the Service Credit Union Victory Club at Wildcat Stadium.
Each transaction made with the UNH Wildcats debit card supports the Service Credit Union Athletic Scholarship Fund. Credit union members also receive free popcorn at UNH hockey games.
“Together, we continue to find strategic approaches to grow the UNH Athletics brand, create value for our fans and provide meaningful support for our programs,” said Demi Kneeland, general manager of Wildcat Sports Properties.
Additional Promotion
The expanded agreement also includes prominent signage at UNH athletics venues, a Community Heroes Spotlight and plans for additional programs across campus.
“We are incredibly proud to strengthen our longstanding relationship with UNH Athletics and align the Service Credit Union brand with one of college hockey’s premier programs through this historic helmet partnership,” said David Araujo, president and CEO of Service Credit Union.
Araujo said the organizations share a commitment to serving their members and communities.
