ATLANTA– Used electric vehicles and hybrids dominated the U.K.’s fastest-selling used cars in July, marking the first time electrified vehicles have filled all 10 spots in the monthly rankings compiled by Autotrader, according to the online automotive marketplace.
The July rankings represent the first time since Autotrader began tracking the data that no gasoline- or diesel-powered vehicles appeared among the 10 fastest-selling used models.

Autotrader reported that eight of the top 10 fastest-selling vehicles were fully electric, double the number recorded in July 2025. The remaining two were gasoline-electric hybrids.
And the Fastest-Selling Vehicle Was…
The fastest-selling used vehicle in July was the MG ZS hybrid, in the one- to three-year-old category, which sold in an average of 13 days. The Toyota Yaris hybrid, in the five- to 10-year-old category, rounded out the top 10 with an average selling time of 20 days, according to Autotrader.
“July’s data points to a used EV market that is continuing to move in the right direction,” Marc Palmer, Autotrader’s head of strategy and insights, said in a statement. He said sustained demand suggests buyers are increasingly recognizing the affordability of used electric vehicles while dealers have become more effective at identifying the models consumers want.
Palmer added that retailers who use market data to identify high-demand inventory will be best positioned to capitalize on one of the industry’s strongest growth segments.
The Slowest Sellers
In contrast, no fully electric vehicles appeared among July’s 10 slowest-selling used vehicles. That list was dominated by gasoline- and diesel-powered models, along with one gasoline hybrid.
Across all powertrains, the average used vehicle sold in 30 days during July, consistent with seasonal trends from a year earlier, Autotrader reported.
The strongest-performing segment was vehicles between three and five years old. Across all fuel types, those vehicles sold in an average of 28 days, while electric vehicles in that age range sold in just 20 days.
Autotrader said prices for three- to five-year-old electric vehicles have now reached parity with comparable gasoline-powered models, a factor that is helping drive stronger demand in the used EV market.
