Suspicious Fire at CU’s Branch Over the Weekend Being Investigated for Arson

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Officials are investigating a suspicious fire at a credit union branch here over the weekend.

According to a report from the Spartanburg Police Department, at around 9:40 p.m. officers were called to a fire at the Carolina Foothills Credit Union on North Church Street for a suspected arson.

According to the report, the Spartanburg City Fire Department said the fire had been started on the left side of the exterior of the credit union. Fire crews had to create a hole in the roof to help put out the fire. 

The credit union’s manager said a new facility will be built to replace the damaged building, according to the Spartanburg Police Department.
