TACOMA, Wash.–The ambulance bay of Tacoma Community College’s new Emergency Medical Services (EMS) lab will be named after TAPCO Credit Union following a donation of $75,000 to support the newly constructed lab.
“We are thrilled to support the new EMS Lab at Tacoma Community College and to continue building on our long-standing relationship with both the college and first responders in our community,” TAPCO Credit Unition President and CEO Justin Martin said in a statement. “TCC is a leader in creating equitable pathways to education, and this new lab is a powerful example of how the college invests in programs that prepare students for meaningful, in-demand careers. By expanding access to job skills training, TCC is not only empowering students but also strengthening the health and safety of our entire community.”
‘Extension of Classroom’
Located near the Harned Center for Health Careers’ Mildred Street entrance, the new EMS Lab houses the TCC Ambulance and provides an extension of the nearby EMS classroom, allowing students to practice transport scenarios, according to the organizations.
