OKLAHOMA CITY—Tinker Federal Credit Union has named 10 winners of its 2026 Win Gas for a Year Sweepstakes, providing each with a check intended to cover a year’s worth of fuel costs.
According to the $6.1-billion TFCU, winners were randomly selected from eligible entries received during the sweepstakes period, with credit union members automatically entered.
The winners are Holly Gordon of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Donald Hobbs of Noble, Oklahoma; Magid Assaleh of Oklahoma City; David Lesher of Luther, Oklahoma; Ryan Ericson of Bethany, Oklahoma; Sherri Chandler of Ada, Oklahoma; Terri Andrews of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Sidney Koehn of Anadarko, Oklahoma; Sarah Horn of Enid, Oklahoma; and Ronald Ernest of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Several winners said they were caught off guard by the news.
“I was so surprised when I got the phone call saying I won. I couldn’t believe it,” Gordon said in a statement released by TFCU.
‘Totally Surprised’
Andrews said she was particularly surprised because she had not actively entered the sweepstakes.
“I was totally surprised. I didn’t enter anything; I just have an account,” Andrews said. “TFCU has been there for me my whole life. It’s amazing.”
TFCU held a celebration at its Choctaw branch, where winners who were able to attend received their checks in person. The event also included food and other activities.
The credit union said the sweepstakes is part of its broader efforts to provide financial support to members and the communities it serves.
‘We Saw an Opportunity’
“With fuel costs impacting so many households, we saw an opportunity to provide relief to some of our members,” Nicole Emmons, TFCU senior vice president of marketing, said in a statement. “TFCU is always looking for ways to be helpful that are relevant and timely for our communities, and this sweepstakes was just another way for us to make a difference in our members’ lives.”
