Tinker FCU Pays Off Storm Shelter Loan for Winning Sweepstakes Member

SHAWNEE, Okla. — Tinker Federal Credit Union has paid off the remaining storm shelter loan of a Shawnee member as part of the credit union’s 2026 Storm Shelter Loan Payoff Sweepstakes.

TFCU said Briceton Arnold was selected in a random drawing, resulting in the remaining $2,157 balance on his storm shelter loan being paid in full.

For Arnold and his wife, Kilee, the decision to install a storm shelter followed firsthand experiences with severe tornadoes.

A Personal Reason

The couple had been in their Shawnee home for only a month when a tornado struck their neighborhood and severely damaged the house.

“We hadn’t even made the first payment on the house yet,” Briceton Arnold said. “The tornado came through and ripped the whole back side of our house off.”

Kilee Arnold also had a personal reason for wanting a storm shelter. She was among the students who took shelter at Highland East Junior High School during the 2013 Moore tornado.

“I feel like tornadoes follow me,” she said. “So, I insisted we get a storm shelter.”
