SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Paze, the digital wallet and online checkout platform backed by several major U.S. financial institutions, has launched a national advertising campaign featuring actors Elizabeth Banks and Gabrielle Union as it seeks to expand adoption among consumers, merchants, banks and credit unions.
The campaign, titled “Paze. It Checks Out,” uses the actors’ surnames as a play on the financial institutions connected to the service, highlighting the role banks and credit unions play in offering the digital checkout solution.
Created by agency Big Spaceship, the campaign promotes Paze as a simplified and more secure online checkout option that allows consumers to make purchases using eligible cards from participating financial institutions without creating additional usernames, passwords or accounts.
According to Paze, the platform enhances security by preventing consumers’ full card numbers from being shared with merchants during transactions.

‘Try Not to Overthink It’
“When your campaign stars Elizabeth Banks and Gabrielle Union, you try not to overthink it,” Serge Elkiner, general manager of Paze, said in a statement. “But the connection works because the product does too. Consumers want online checkout to feel simple, secure, and streamlined.”
The campaign uses humor to reinforce Paze’s connection to financial institutions while emphasizing convenience and security during online purchases.
“The Banks and Union connection was honestly too perfect to pass up,” Elizabeth Banks said in a statement.
“The campaign has this playful energy, but underneath it is something really relatable: people want checkout to feel easy and secure,” Gabrielle Union added in a statement.
The marketing push comes as Paze continues expanding its network of participating merchants and financial institutions.
More Than 200 Million Cards
According to the company, more than 200 million credit and debit cards have been added to Paze through participating banks and credit unions, giving consumers access to the digital checkout option across a growing number of merchants.
Paze is operated by Early Warning Services, which also operates the person-to-person payments network Zelle. The company said it is leveraging its experience in large-scale financial services infrastructure to support online commerce.
The campaign will run across connected television, digital video and social media channels, with additional promotion from participating financial institutions and merchant partners as Paze seeks to expand its presence in the competitive digital payments market.
