To Stop Deposit Outflows, OCCU Adds New Crypto Offerings, is Waiving Fees

OCALA, Fla. – To introduce its new crypto investment offerings, Ocala Community Credit Union is waiving all associated fees during September.

As the CU Daily reported hereOcala Community Credit Union said it has moved to offer crypto services in order to hang onto deposits. It has partnered with InvestiFi to launch the crypto trading solution through its online banking platform. 

The $49.4-million OCCU said the partnership comes as it seeks to boost its digital footprint with a variety of services for its members.

Reducing Outflow
At the time of introduction, the credit union said InvestiFi will “focus on reducing the outflow of assets” from Ocala Community CU to external crypto platforms like Coinbase and Robinhood, adding that “through the collaboration, both organizations aim to attract investors interested in crypto investing by way of InvestiFi’s user system.”

In launching the offering, OCCU has published a series of related FAQs on its website, including:
• What is cryptocurrency?
• What is the lowest dollar amount I can invest?
• What is blockchain?
• What is a digital asset?
• Plus, a dozen more FAQs

‘Way to Attract New Members’
