MIRAMAR, Fla.–Tropical Financial Credit Union (TFCU) said it has expanded its field of membership to include Manatee, Charlotte and Monroe counties in Florida. Tropical Financial does not currently have a physical presence in those markets and said it will serve them digitally.
The move expands the $992-million TFCU’s footprint from Southeast Florida into Southwest and Central Florida.

Anyone who lives or works in these areas, works for a partner company or has an immediate family member who is an account holder is eligible to join, it said.
This expansion extends the credit union’s reach across 12 Florida counties, an area from Fort Myers south.
‘Growing Demand’
“We continue to see growing demand from Floridians looking for a trusted, community-focused financial partner,” President and CEO Rick Shaw said in a statement. “Advancements in our digital platforms now allow us to deliver a full-service banking experience regardless of where members live. This expansion ensures people along Florida’s Gulf Coast and throughout the Keys have a strong alternative to traditional banks.”
Tropical Financial noted it operates physical branches exclusively in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
‘Robust Platform’
“All other members have access to the credit union’s robust digital platform. TFCU’s recent technological enhancements make it easier to join, transact on mobile devices and receive personalized online service,” it said.
