MANDEVILLE, La. —Two credit unions have announced new headquarters projects.
In Louisiana, the $1.5-billion OnPath Credit Union plans to move its headquarters from Metairie to a new corporate campus in Mandeville, bringing about 143 employees to St. Tammany Parish, New Orleans CityBusiness reported.
The credit union is targeting completion in the first quarter of 2027 for the campus on 5.5 acres at 1625 W. Causeway Approach. The site will accommodate future hiring, although the number of additional jobs has not been specified.

CityBusiness reported a planned investment of $18.2 million, while also noting that OnPath had not disclosed the project’s total cost.
The headquarters will bring administrative leadership, member support teams and specialized operations departments together in one location. OnPath said the facility will include updated workplace technology and is intended to improve coordination and member service. Existing branches will remain open throughout the relocation.
OnPath President and CEO Jared Freeman said the credit union’s growth created a need for a facility that could support expanding operations. He said the campus would provide room for larger teams, improve collaboration and strengthen service to members and the community.
The location also is expected to help OnPath recruit employees from Greater New Orleans and the Northshore. The project is expected to generate $12.9 million in annual payroll, according to OnPath Senior Vice President Candace Washington Theodore.
Expansion Continues
The headquarters project follows other expansion efforts. In January, OnPath acquired nearly an acre along Camellia Boulevard near River Ranch as part of its move into Lafayette, CityBusiness previously reported.
Last year, OnPath announced a definitive agreement to acquire Heritage Bank of St. Tammany, a federally chartered savings bank based in Covington, according to a credit union statement.
OnPath, a member-owned nonprofit financial cooperative, said it has served Southeast Louisiana since 1961. It reports more than 100,000 members and $1.51 billion in assets, making it Louisiana’s fourth-largest credit union, according to OnPath.
Expansion in New York
Separately, in Town of Tonawanda, NY., the $185-million SJP FCU plans to demolish a former Save a Lot Grocery store in the Town of Tonawanda and construct a new headquarters.
“We have a beautiful plan drawn up,” said SJPFCU CEO Chas Kirsch. “We’re going to move into a brand-new headquarters there.”
The credit union paid $1.1 million to acquire the former grocery store at 3640 Delaware Ave, according to records filed with the Erie County Clerk’s office. Dream Operations Inc. was the seller.
