United FCU Wins Moonridge Foundation’s Philanthropy Leaders Summit Trailblazer Award

RENO, Nev. — United Federal Credit Union has received the Moonridge Foundation’s 2026 Philanthropy Leaders Summit Trailblazer Award for its community work in northern Nevada, the credit union said.

The awards, established 13 years ago by Eric Hilton, recognize individuals and organizations making a lasting impact across Nevada, according to the foundation. Each year, the foundation honors one individual and one corporation in both northern and southern Nevada.

“It’s humbling to receive this recognition and be included among so many organizations and leaders doing important work to strengthen Nevada,” said Meredith Williams, United’s senior vice president of retail. “We also want to say thank you to Community Health Alliance for nominating us.”

United operates 10 branches across northern Nevada and has an 11th under construction, according to the credit union.

United said its employees volunteer, provide financial education resources and work with local organizations to address community needs. Organizations it supports include Boys & Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girls on the Run, Nevada Food for Thought, PBS Reno and Community Health Alliance.

The credit union recently contributed $20,000 to Hawk Fire relief efforts. The funds were divided equally between Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada and the American Red Cross Northern Nevada Chapter to assist people affected by the wildfire, United said.

Founded in 1949, United serves more than 190,000 members worldwide and manages more than $4.2 billion in assets, according to the credit union.
