BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Valley Strong Credit Union said its Invitational Golf Tournament raised $300,000 to benefit Bakersfield Memorial Hospital’s Lauren Small Children’s Center. The funds will help expand resources, equipment, and programs that support newborns, children, and families receiving care at the Center.
Held at Seven Oaks Country Club, the inaugural tournament brought together Valley Strong leaders, business sponsors, and community supporters for a day of golf, networking, and fundraising—all with the shared goal of strengthening local children’s health care.
“At Valley Strong, we believe the strength of our community is measured by how we show up for one another,” President and CEO Nick Ambrosini said in a statement. “The Valley Strong Invitational is a powerful example of people helping people, and we’re proud to support Memorial Hospital’s Lauren Small Children’s Center with $300,000 that will help provide compassionate, high-quality care for our region’s youngest patients.”

“We are grateful to Valley Strong Credit Union, tournament sponsors, and every participant who made this year’s invitational such a success,” said Ken Keller, President and CEO of Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. “This generous support helps us continue caring for children and families close to home, and it strengthens our ability to deliver specialized services through the Lauren Small Children’s Center when families need it most.”
The Lauren Small Children’s Center at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital provides specialized care for pediatric and neonatal patients, including advanced monitoring and treatment services designed to support growing families in Kern County and surrounding communities. Philanthropic support helps the Center invest in critical equipment, enhance patient and family programs, and advance initiatives that improve outcomes for children.
