TAMPA, Fla. — Velera has been named among U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 Best Companies to Work For with the credit union service organization also receiving recognition in the information technology industry and the South.
Velera said it was rated among the top companies based on factors that job seekers consider when evaluating potential employers, including pay and benefits, work-life balance, job stability, workplace comfort and career opportunities.
“Credit unions exist to improve the financial lives of the people and communities they serve, and that mission starts with how we care for our own team,” Velera CEO Chuck Fagan said.
Fagan said creating a workplace where employees feel supported and connected helps Velera better serve credit unions and its other partners.
U.S. News evaluates companies across six areas: quality of pay and benefits; work-life balance and flexibility; job and company stability; physical and psychological comfort; belonging and esteem; and career opportunities and professional development.
“The 2026-2027 job market is rapidly shifting the way employers, employees and job seekers think about work, and subsequently, workplace culture,” U.S. News Vice President of Careers Carly Chase said. “The list spotlights companies that scored high on multiple metrics that promote a positive work environment and everyday employee experience.”
Ranking Consider Employee Sentiment
To determine its Best Companies to Work For ratings, U.S. News considered private companies with at least 1,000 employees and more than $500 million in annual revenue, as defined by ZoomInfo, along with the 5,000 largest publicly traded companies based on market capitalization.
Companies also were required to have at least 75 Glassdoor reviews written between 2021 and 2025.
The methodology incorporates employee sentiment and regulatory enforcement information, with data supplied by Revelio Labs, QUODD, ZoomInfo and Good Jobs First, according to Velera.
Additional Recognition
The U.S. News recognition is the latest in a series of workplace and industry rankings for Velera.
Earlier this year, TIME named Velera among America’s Best Private Companies, while Forbes included it among America’s Best Midsize Employers.
In 2025, Velera ranked No. 2 in its industry on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers for Women and was included among Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Workplaces for Gen Z.
The company also was named a Top 25 solution provider in IDC’s 2025 FinTech Rankings, which evaluates technology companies providing products and services to the financial services and fintech industries.
