TAMPA, Fla. — Velera has been named to Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers for Women for the third consecutive year, ranking among the top 100 employers overall and No. 14 in the banking and financial services industry, according to the company.
The payments credit union service organization and financial technology provider said the recognition places it among 700 companies included in the 2026 rankings, which were compiled by Forbes in partnership with research firm Statista.
According to Velera, the rankings were based on responses from more than 146,000 women employed by U.S. companies and institutions with at least 1,000 employees during the past three years. Only responses from women were included in the evaluation.
Three Primary Factors
The rankings considered three primary factors: recommendations from current employees, recommendations from former employees and an index measuring the representation of women among top executives and board directors. Those measures were combined to produce the final rankings, Velera said.
“Velera is proud to be recognized as one of America’s Best Employers for Women for the third consecutive year,” CEO Chuck Fagan said in a statement. “This award reflects the experiences of women across our organization and the culture we’re committed to building at Velera — one where women have opportunities to grow, lead and succeed.”
Velera said the recognition reflects its ongoing efforts to foster an inclusive workplace and support women’s professional development and leadership opportunities.
Additional Honors Received
The company has received several workplace honors in the past year. Earlier in 2026, TIME named Velera to its list of America’s Best Private Companies, and Forbes also included the company among America’s Best Midsize Employers.
In 2025, Velera ranked No. 2 in the banking and financial services category on Forbes’ America’s Best Employers for Women list. The company also was recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Gen Z and was named among the Top 25 solution providers in IDC’s 2025 FinTech Rankings.
Velera, based in Tampa, serves more than 4,000 financial institutions with payments and financial technology services.
