Velera Named to TIME’s List of America’s Best Private Companies 2026

TAMPA, Fla. – Velera said it has has been named to TIME’s list of America’s Best Private Companies 2026. This prestigious award is presented in collaboration with Statista, the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.

According to Velera, the America’s Best Private Companies 2026 ranking awards the top 500 privately held companies across the United States based on two key dimensions:

  • Employee Satisfaction: Measured using survey responses from ~217,000 U.S. company employees over three years. It factors in recommendations from current and former employees, plus verified employee ratings across image, atmosphere, working conditions, salary and equality.
  • Company Impact: Assessed via a partnership with Helsinki-based firm The Upright Project, which quantifies a company’s Net Impact, defined as the net balance of its societal costs and benefits, across 19 subcategories spanning four pillars: society, knowledge, health and environment.

Based on the results of the study, Velera said it is “honored to be recognized among the top 65 companies on TIME’s list of America’s Best Private Companies 2026.”

‘Especially Meaningful”

“This award is especially meaningful, because it reflects two things that have always gone hand in hand for us at Velera: investing in our people and strengthening the credit union movement,” Velera CEO Chuck Fagan said in a statement. “Every day, our team works alongside credit unions to help them better serve their members and communities. We’re proud to foster a culture where talented people can do meaningful work, challenge one another to innovate and help advance an industry built on putting people first.”

‘Differences are Embraced’

Velera has always been committed to cultivating a diverse, equitable and inclusive organization where differences are embraced and celebrated. Earlier this year, Forbes included Velera on its list of America’s Best Midsize Employers. In 2025, the company ranked No. 2 in its industry on Forbes’ 2025 list of America’s Best Employers for Women and earned recognition as one of Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Workplaces for Gen Z 2025. Velera noted it was also named a Top 25 solution provider in IDC’s 2025 FinTech Rankings, which features global technology companies providing solutions to the financial services and fintech industries.
