EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The Royal Credit Union Foundation has awarded a $100,000 grant to the Western Dairyland Economic Opportunity Council (WDEOC) to support the Day Resource Center, a project designed to provide daytime shelter, resources, and services at one easily accessible location for individuals experiencing homelessness in the Eau Claire community.
The Day Resource Center serves as a centralized location where individuals can access basic needs such as showers and laundry, along with professional services aimed at helping them move toward stability and long-term housing.
“The RCU Foundation is committed to strengthening the communities we serve,” said John Sackett, RCU Foundation President. “This project is an important step toward ensuring that individuals and families in our community have access to the resources and support they need to build a better future.”

Leaders from the RCU Foundation and WDEOC gathered on Thursday, June 25, at 1 Better Way in Eau Claire for a ceremonial check presentation recognizing the partnership and the impact this project will have locally.
“We are grateful for the support from the RCU Foundation in helping bring this vision to life,” said Anna Cardarella, WDEOC CEO. “The Day Resource Center is a critical asset for individuals facing homelessness, connecting them to resources, support, and opportunities for a more stable future.”
The RCU Foundation focuses on funding large-scale capital projects that create meaningful, lasting impact in the communities served by Royal Credit Union, including initiatives in education, health, and the arts.
