What’s Happening on Mainstreet (CU)? New Partnership With Kansas City Diamonds

LENEXA, Kan.—Mainstreet Credit Union said it has partnered with the Kansas City Diamonds, a new professional women’s fastpitch softball team, in a collaboration aimed at supporting community engagement, education initiatives and women’s sports.

Under the agreement, Mainstreet Credit Union will serve as the official credit union of the KC Diamonds during the team’s inaugural season in the Professional Softball League. The partnership includes brand visibility at home games, fan engagement activities and community-focused programs, according to Mainstreet Credit Union.

“At Mainstreet, our commitment goes beyond banking; we’re here to empower people to improve their financial lives,” President and CEO Bob Mayes said in a statement. “Sponsoring the KC Diamonds is an extension of that promise.”

Centerpiece of Partnership

A centerpiece of the partnership will be Mainstreet Teacher Appreciation Night, an annual game designed to recognize educators and schools across the Kansas City area. Mainstreet said it will donate 500 tickets to local schools, allowing teachers and students to attend a Diamonds game.

The credit union also plans to sponsor a Teacher of the Game program, which will honor a local educator at each of the Diamonds’ 21 home games. Honorees and their school districts will receive recognition following each game.

Mainstreet said the teacher-focused initiatives reflect the credit union’s roots. The organization was founded more than 70 years ago by a group of teachers.

Creating Memories

KC Diamonds President Jeremy McDowell said the partnership aligns with the team’s mission of supporting families and community organizations while helping grow professional women’s sports in the region.

“Together, we can create memorable fan experiences using the platform of professional women’s sports to recognize educators, inspire young athletes and deepen our connection to Kansas City,” McDowell said in a statement.

The Diamonds play their home games at Legends Field in Kansas City, Kansas. Mainstreet said it will host activations at the ballpark throughout the season as part of its community outreach efforts.

The credit union said the partnership is intended to strengthen its connections with members and area residents while supporting the long-term growth of women’s professional fastpitch softball in Kansas City.
