LEXINGTON PARK, Md.– Cedar Point Federal Credit Union said it has selected Velera to provide it with debit and credit card processing services and support.
In selecting a debit and credit processing provider, the $882-million Cedar Point said it worked closely with its advisory partners to evaluate the industry’s leading options. Following a comprehensive RFP process and review, the credit union chose Velera for its modern payments experience, enhanced fraud protection and stronger support for members and staff, according to the company.

Seeking an Understanding of Cardholders
“From the start, we were focused on finding a partner that understands both the operational demands of a growing credit union and the expectations of today’s cardholders,” CPFCU President and CEO Charlie Roach said in a statement. “Working with Velera will enable us to streamline our card programs and provide the modern options our members rely on.”
Velera will begin providing debit and credit card processing support to Cedar Point through a phased rollout from late 2026 to early 2027.
