DRAPER, Utah—Mountain America Credit Union and Oak View Group have announced a multi-year naming rights sponsorship for the 5,000-seat multi-purpose event center planned as part of The Point development.
Under the agreement, the venue will be named the Mountain America Event Center.
According to the organizations, The Point is a master-planned mixed-use development project in Draper delivered through a partnership between the Point of the Mountain State Land Authority and The Point Partners, a joint venture between Lincoln Property Company, Colmena Group and Wadsworth Development Group.

‘Cornerstone of Project’
“Mountain America Credit Union is pleased to partner with the state of Utah, The Point Partners and Oak View Group to introduce the Mountain America Event Center,” MACU President and CEO Sterling Nielsen said in a statement. “As a cornerstone of the largest development project in Utah’s history, the Mountain America Event Center will be a powerful driver of economic growth and a vibrant gathering place for the community.”
The multi-year partnership was executed by OVG Global Partnerships, the sponsorship and naming rights division of Oak View Group.
In addition to the Mountain America Event Center, immediate plans for Phase One of The Point include a 363-unit multifamily residential complex, with 425,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and a 2,000-foot walkable street called The Promenade designed to be the social heart of The Point and a destination for dining, shopping and gathering.
The $22.6-billion, Sandy, Utah-based Mountain America CU has more than 1.4 million members.
